microbrasion Microdermabrasion stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen by removing the outer layers of dead skin. This is achieved painlessly by the propulsion of small, sterile crystals to the surface of the skin while simultaneously vacuuming them up for disposal. This takes place within the hand piece so there is no muss or fuss

The stimulating effect of the treatment creates a mild flushing and cleansing effect below the surface of the skin resulting in a vibrant, healthy appearance and complexion. Microdermabrasion enhances the oxygenation of the skin, increasing cell renewal and regrowth of collagen (the structural protein in your skin which gives it strength). This enhancement of the production of collagen within the skin results in a natural rejuvenation as opposed to the injection of collagen. As a result, the new collagen is evenly distributed throughout the skin without clumping. This has the effect of softening fine lines greater glow, fading of brown skin spots.
Clinical trials have, in fact, demonstrated these changes, over the course of 6 treatments. Treatments are performed by qualified estheticians with extra training in advance aesthetics. Do not confuse this procedure with dermabrasion. The difference between microdermabrasion and dermabrasion is the depth. Dermabrasion is a surgical procedure done under general anesthetic, involving considerable downtime, and long periods of recovery.
Microdermabrasion removes 30%-35% of the corneous layer, the first layer of the epidermis formed by dead cells.
